Questions, answered.
Do you do logbook servicing without voiding my warranty?
Yes. Australian consumer law means an authorised dealer is not the only place you can have your vehicle serviced under warranty. We service to manufacturer spec, use approved oils and parts, and stamp your logbook. Your warranty stays intact.
Do I need a booking, or can I drop in?
For services, electrical diagnostics, and safety certificates please book ahead so we can allocate the right time and tools. For batteries and dead-car emergencies, give us a call and we'll fit you in the same day where we can.
Do you provide a quote before starting work?
Always. We diagnose first, write a clear quote, and only proceed once you've approved it. If we find something else needs attention, we ring you before doing any work.
Can you do safety certificates / roadworthy?
Yes — we're authorised to issue QLD Safety Certificates for vehicle transfers, sales, and rego renewals. Bring photo ID, registration, and allow about an hour.
What makes Lap Auto different from other workshops?
Most workshops are one trade. We do three under one roof — auto electrical, mechanical, and 4x4 accessories. So whether you need a logbook service, a snorkel and bullbar fitted, or a dual-battery system wired in, you're dealing with one team that knows the whole vehicle.
Do you fit 4x4 accessories, or just sell them?
We fit. Bullbars, snorkels, roof racks, towbars, dual battery setups, solar, LED light bars, canopies, roller shutters — all installed in-house by our team. We don't farm anything out. Bring your rig in and pick it up done.
Will a snorkel or bullbar void my warranty?
When fitted properly to manufacturer guidelines using approved products, no — your warranty stays intact. We use brands like Safari, ARB, Outback Armour, REDARC, and others that are warranty-compatible. If you're unsure, bring your logbook in and we'll talk you through it.
What hours are you open?
Monday to Friday, closing at 4pm. Drop-offs from 7:30am. Closed weekends and public holidays. Call ahead on 0422 658 458 for after-hours collection arrangements.
